Techno Brain Donates food and clothes in Mukuru kwa Njenga slum

On Wednesday July 18, Techno Brain BPO/ ITES donated foodstuffs and clothes to Jobenpha Community Centre in Mukuru Kwa Njenga. This was a resolve by members of staff and the company to give to an under privileged community.

The decision to undertake this activity developed from the desire by members of the Techno Brain BPO/ ITES to donate to the needy in our society, recognizing that the challenges they face cannot be overcome unless we, as members of the humanity play our role in addressing those challenges, albeit in a small way.

As Techno Brain family we are increasingly mindful of the impact that our operations have on the society at large. As a team we realize that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an essential part of our practices and overall culture.

This broad objective, as a result, prompted the decision to undertake this activity in the sprawling slum of Mukuru Kwa Njenga.

Techno Brain was represented at the event by Florence Wanyaga, Charity Gathoni, Boniface Manyala, Nancy Maritim, Kihara and Winfred Iyaya.

The event brought together community members, guardians, teachers and about 400 pupils, mainly orphans, some of whom lost their parents in the Sinai inferno.

The Techno Brain team donated foodstuff comprising of rice, beans, cooking oil, porridge flour, sugar and noodles in addition to clothes and shoes contributed by members of staff.

The guardians and the Techno Brain team were treated to songs, skits and poems from a section of the pupils.

The teachers, guardians and pupils of the centre expressed their gratitude to Techno Brain for sharing with them. 

The teachers, led by Godfrey Mulusa, the centre’s director said Techno Brain was the second company after Kenya Airways to donate to them following the fire occasioned by the Kenya Pipeline explosion in Sinai which prompted their relocation to Mukuru kwa Njenga.  

The director said he was, on behalf of the community, grateful to Techno Brain and its staff for their donation.
